Faces of the Warehouse Art Museum

John Shannon, Co-Founder, Managing Director

Jan Serr, Co-Founder

Serr is a graduate and Distinguished Alumnus of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she received her BFA and MFA in painting and drawing. Her work is in public and private collections in the United States and Canada, where she exhibited with the Marlborough Godard Gallery. Work by Serr was selected for the Art in Embassies, a program of the U.S. State Department, and is in the permanent collections of the Milwaukee Art Museum, the Haggerty Museum of Art, and the Johnson Foundation.

 

Emily Hankins,

Registrar

Emily is a recent graduate of the Art History masters program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She also attended UWM for undergrad and received a bachelors with a double major in English and Art History in 2019. She has worked in various curatorial and collections-related roles since coming to Milwaukee, including as the collections and education outreach teaching assistant at the Emile H. Mathis Gallery and the collections manager and curator/manager of the Union Art Gallery, both on UWM's campus. Emily enjoys exploring the Milwaukee art scene and visiting local parks in her spare time.

Avery Pelekoudas, Collections & Programming

Avery received her Associate's Degree in Art at Illinois Central College and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a B.A. in Studio Arts, focusing on drawing and photography. While completing her degree at UWM she worked as a Gallery Assistant and Gallery Photographer at the Union Art Gallery, on UWM’s Campus. Her continued passion for art and the art community has led her to the Warehouse Art Museum.

Mia Dreher, Marketing Coordinator

Mia received her B.F.A in Design and Visual Communication (DVC) and a certificate in Digital Fabrication and Design (DFD) at The University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. Mia worked in several public education focused roles in Milwaukee, from the Manfred Olsen Planetarium to the Milwaukee Environmental Collaboration Office - ECO, before coming to WAM.

Hopeful Dog (Hope), Security Specialist & Guest Greeter

Hope is WAM’s official greeter and an expert in artwork security.

Hope has an intrepid spirit and a giving heart, offering a helpful paw to everyone.

Hope is also modest. Here are some things that Hope has done recently that most people don’t know about:

· lead four teams to victory in the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race

· walked, sniffed, and marked the entirety of the Great Wall of China

· exhibited at the Venice Bowennale

· selected as a Fulbark Scholar 

Hope is most looking forward to this years “Paws/Connect” exhibition.
